Our Goals:
- Marine environment: seagrasses and algae
-
Invasive fresh-water plants
-
Medicinal plants
-
Agro-resources and biowaste recycling
Plants to be studied are selected according to:
- their regional importance in terms of biomass generated, importance
for the ecosystem, and potential industrial use. This is the case with
Zostera from the
Arcachon Lagoon or invasive tropical plants, which pose
serious management problems in Southwest France (ex : Ludwigia,
Egeria, Spartina…).
- their membership in a botanical family potentially rich in bioactive
substances. We are currently studying seagrasses (Zostères,
Cymodocea,
Syringodium , Phyllospadix,
Posidonia...), algae (Cystoseira...),
tropical plants (Asclepiadaceae,
Apocynaceae...)
, and
médicinal plants.
